Moving More for our Mental Health
(Added on Mon 13th May 2024)
This week is Mental Health Week 2024 and Blackburn United fully support this years theme of 'moving more for our mental health’. Life gets busy and it can feel like we don’t have time to spend on activities to improve our wellbeing. But, finding moments for movement throughout the day might be easier than you think. How often do you find yourself ‘waiting’ throughout the day? Waiting for the kettle to boil; for your children to come out of school; for a bus to arrive; or for a delivery. These moments can add up. If you use the time to get moving, that will add up too. You could march on the spot, do some stretches, or try some chair exercises. Give it a go! You’ll be surprised how much time you can fill with movement! #ForTheCommunityByTheCommunity #MomentsForMovement #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

It was with great sadness that the club learned of the death of ex-first team player Hugh ‘Shug’ Temperley over the weekend.
Hugh turned out for our first-team over four seasons and scored 18 times, perhaps the most important coming against Yoker Athletic in the 1984/85 Scottish Junior Cup in front of 600 fans at Murrayfield Park. Shug then captained the side to promotion later that season.
Our thoughts are with the Temperley family at this difficult time.
