Meet the Board

 Ian McGinty

Ian is President of the Community Club and in this role manages both the Management Committee and the affairs of the Club and has been responsible for driving forward the quest for improved playing and changing facilities. Ian is active in the positive identification of the Community Club both locally and further afield, as well as promoting the Club through both social and local media as well as other channels.

James Johnstone

Jim is the Club's Vice President and started off in the youth section as a coach in 2000, taking his first team at Under 9's. In 2001 Jim took on the position as Blackburn United Youth Football Club President and stayed in that position until the Youth Club merged with the adult side then playing in the SJFA. Previously the Club's Child Protection Officer, Jim is now instrumental in the managed maintenance of Club facilities.

 David Jones

A qualified goalkeeping coach, Davy is the Community Club Secretary and was involved with the Club’s 1999 team for a number of years and is also instrumental in the organisation of the Club’s training and playing lets. He is a strong networker in the local community and in reaching out to more members and teams in the local area as well as managing all inquiries for access to Club facilities.

 Angela Campbell

Angie has been Treasurer of the Community Club since August 2003. Angie assisted in the administration of the 1993 team for a number of years and now also carries out the administration and running of the Club’s Soccer School. Angie is responsible for the Club’s hospitality offerings and is heavily involved in fundraising for the Club and the Community.

Neil MacCallum

A qualified economist and partly based in Glasgow, Neil works on delivering an increased portfolio of sports and community-based initiatives in our local community and is charged with the strategic development of the Club as a membership organisation, generating additional income, funding and community benefits.

 Brian Smillie

Brian is a former player, captain and assistant manager of Blackburn United and is responsible for the development needs of all the coaches associated with the Club. Brian also coaches some of our younger age groups and has been responsible for many of them going on to play pro-youth football with some of the bigger SPFL sides in the central belt.

Paul Meechan

Paul is long time Secretary of the Senior side and helped drive their move from Junior football and the ERSJFA into the Scottish Football Pyramid and towards full SFA membership.

Trevor Longhurst

Trevor is a long-time coach with the successful Boys 2006 side and works in the community with the socially disadvantaged. Trevor also runs the club's popular Sporting Memories Dementia Group.
